Under the auspicious of The Ministry of Youth and Sports, Allianz Egypt renewed their partnership agreement with UNICEF to support “Meshwary” program that empowers Children and Youth and develops their skills through programs for innovative thinking, decision-making, entrepreneurship, and career counseling.
The “Allianz – UNICEF” partnership agreement which will run for three years, starting in March 2022, reflects Allianz’s awareness of the importance of the social responsibility role, as it is one of the leading companies in the insurance sector in Egypt.
Through this agreement, Allianz Egypt will contribute over the next three years to support the “Meshwary” program, in addition to providing social protection for at-risk children and their families in Egypt.
The sigining event was attended by Gen. Ismail el Far, Executive Director and Deputy Minister of MoYS, Mr. Ayman Hegazy, Chairman and CEO of Allianz Egypt, and Mr. Jeremy Hopkins, UNICEF Representative in Egypt, as well as several high-profile representation from the government, start-up community, and the private sector.
Ayman Hegazy, Chairman and CEO of Allianz Egypt said: “In line with Egypt’s Vision 2030, which aims to achieve sustainable community development, Allianz Egypt’s strategy aims to support youth by focusing on innovation for development, promoting equitable access to quality education, and preparing youth to be experts in decision-making and active members in Civil society who contribute to creating a better world.”
The “Meshwary” program targets young people aged between 10 and 24 years, especially in the neediest categories. The project is implemented in youth centers in 15 governorates representing Upper Egypt, Delta, Urban areas, and border governorates.
“The extended cooperation between the Ministry of Youth and Sports, UNICEF and other partners from civil society and the private sector such as Allianz Egypt, is a driving force to achieve more opportunities for children and youth, and empower them socially and economically to become the leaders of the future.” said Mr. Jeremy Hopkins, the UNICEF Representative in Egypt.
Hopkins added: “The “Meshwary” program works together with all partners to support the national priorities for empowering children and youth, which is also in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030.”
